I have cut two holes so far but am hopping that in the future I will only have to cut one hole. forgot about the water absorbing stuff put in the blue silicon...

    Standard Yamaha CDI

Cleaned up my soldering. Will not solder next time while drinking beer and in bad light. Checked power and it was showing 5 volts at the chip. Need to get some more connectors to continue trying to get a read. Should be able to get some more tomorrow. So may have a better update tomorrow night.

    Standard Yamaha CDI

I need to read the chip before I attempt to program the chip. Most cables are just write not read.

    Standard Yamaha CDI

I finally got a yamaha cdi. I have managed to hack the cdi to pieces. It runs a atmel atmega48 processor. I was hopping the free pin was used for communicating with the processor but it looks like it is not. It looks like it would be possible to modify the advance curve in the cdi but you would...

    valve pocket

you must use the clay method, the amount of clearance required will depend on things like head gaskets if the head or case have been skimmed. Some other things to consider are the valves , what valve springs are used.
