Whats The Difference Racing Gear Set (tranny Set) At Gear Set 1,2, & 4??

this is my basis for choosing my gear ratios for 4 speed classic depending on engine displacement. this is no hard and fast rule. i tried using the yellow gear combos on a smaller engine but the start was sluggish due to the low torque of a stock to 150cc engine. the red gears are stock. the...

Whats The Difference Racing Gear Set (tranny Set) At Gear Set 1,2, & 4??

i used this gear combination based on the engine displacement. bigger engines greater torque therefore can pull longer gears. this is not hard and fast rule. just mu guide with commercially available racing gears and possibility of custom gears.

Whats The Difference Racing Gear Set (tranny Set) At Gear Set 1,2, & 4??

i think if your engine is modified to having a bigger displacement then it has more torque to pull longer gears.

    Help! Valve Problem

valve clearance is bit tricky with the shim setup (because the shim is not fixed. you cant use the the shim cap because it will rattle. to firmly secure in place unlike with the raider head were the cap is stable because of the guide). i used it with the big valve head 24/22 setup for my 65mm...

    Help! Valve Problem

i guess the best remedy is to use the raider valve retainer with 195-200 shim and the wide tip mx king or cb110 valve tapet screw.

    Help! Valve Problem

ouch.. i think the bigger engine yamaha models use the shim type. raider shim was ok for some time except for the incidence of shim getting dislodged.

    Classic Gearbox

the racing gear 1 and 2 are easy to find for the 4 speed classic. use the 32T racing gear one matched to the stock counterpart and 29T racing gear two matched also to the stock countepart. jvt, faito sell these gear one and gear two and are readily available. what is most difficult is the racing...

    Help! Valve Problem

yes definitely! actually the mx tapet screw is what i wanted to use. i inquired at yamaha 3s . it aint readily available. you have to order at a MINIMUM waiting period of three months!!! my engine cant be idle for that long. then a mechanic told me the honda cb110 and/or honda wave dash uses a...

    Sniper Cdi To Mio Sporty

yes! the cdi volt stabilizer sold by kitti passes 17 plus volts to the cdi. so an 18v battery pack works just fine.

    Sniper Cdi To Mio Sporty

as far as the power supply to the cdi since we use total loss system we use an 18v battery pack from a cordless impact wrench. the 12 volt battery is for the radiator fan and/or electrical water pump.

    Sniper Cdi To Mio Sporty

its more of the other way around. mio sporty cdi to sniper. the stock carb with throttle position sensor wont be able to work with the mio cdi. sa race bikes ko the mio cdi wiring offers more simplicity since I am using an open carb.

    Classic Gearbox

there are a lot of ways to make your mx faster. if you don't want to touch the internals of the engine you could go for a reprogrammed ecu and pipe.

    Help! Valve Problem

I have used shims from the Suzuki raider and even used their valve retainer. but I had incidences were the shim jumped out (you have to be meticulous with your valve clearance). you have to sand the shim to its thinnest so its deep within the retainer. the valve tip to valve lock distance is...

    Help! Valve Problem

the tapet screw of the Honda cb110 is easier to find and much cheaper. compared to the mx king which takes at least a minimum of three months to order. I think Yamaha made changes to tapet screw design with mx king since it was becoming a common problem of the old design..mushroom valve tip
