MOTOGP: 2011 Season Takes Shape
The 2011 MotoGP World Championship calendar has been announced...

The FIM released the 2011 MotoGP schedule today. There are no new rounds or tracks for next year but there were a couple of surprises on the March-to-November calendar.

It had been rumored that Indy and Laguna would be back-to-back events with one weekend in between, but that's not the case. The USGP is July 24th and the Indy GP follows over a month later on August 28th. The traditional summer break and the Czech GP fall in between.

Also, it was rumored earlier in the summer (and alluded to in the press conference when Dorna and Laguna Seca announced the contract extension for the race) that the MotoGP support classes would come to California as well. That would not have boded well for the AMA Pro continuing onward at Laguna Seca. But as confirmed a few weeks back by AMA Pro, Superbike, SportBike, and SuperSport will once again be racing along the MotoGP class, while the world championship categories will stay at home.

Portugal jumps up to the spring (May 1st) and the Japanese GP returns to the spring. It was moved this year due to volcano problems in Europe.

As has become tradition, the season finale will be held once again at Valencia November 6th.

ROSSI HAS SHOULDER OPERATION!!!

Rossi has shoulder operation

The Italian underwent surgery today (Sunday, November 14th) with a rehabilitation period of 90 days the expected length for an injury of his type.

Valentino Rossi today underwent surgery at the Cervesi di Cattolica hospital with a procedure performed by Doctor Alex Castagna from the Milan Humanitas Institute and shoulder specialist Dr Giuseppe Porcellini.

The focus of the arthroscopic procedure on Rossi, who suffered cartilage and joint damage to his shoulder in a motocross training accident back in April, was on the supraspinatus tendon and glenoid ligament.

"The condition of the shoulder was really critical: Valentino really had to be tough to keep racing with that kind of injury,” said the surgeons. “The intervention went well, without any complications. For rehabilitation, you'd usually need 90 days for that kind of injury but we'll do our best in order to meet the requirements of the rider."

The surgery lasted for two hours from 11.30am to 1.30pm and the surgeons were assisted by Doctors Fabrizio Campi and Paolo Paladini. Rossi will now remain in hospital overnight before beginning his rehabilitation in the coming days.

MotoGP: Yamaha looking for a sponsor
Posted by Giuseppe7 in World Moto , MotoGP .
Friday, December 17, 2010.

Pending review of the cars with drivers on the track Annesi, we can not dwell on the "motomercato. Several have been with the negotiation of the driver championship. Some have changed seat, see Rossi and Stoner , while others ( Marco Melandri at all ) have left the championships Dorna to turn to other shores. Trading in hand, attention should be also other movements that are bringing about in the stables. Just think of the Yamaha team , which these days is struggling to find a new main sponsor, given that Fiat has decided to cut the bridges.
In all probability the place left by the giant Italian will be the prerogative of AirAsia , which will play the livery of the two Yamaha YZR M1 officers Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies in 2011. The news is obviously unofficial, even if the rumors are always more applicants.

One, however, is quite conclusive. From the International Registry of tomorrow is in fact someone who recently bought the words " airasiayamahateam.com . Hence it is clear therefore that is certainly some truth to exist.

The low-cost airline in question, which is based in Malaysia, is not new to this type of sponsorship, as was the terminus during the Grand Prix at Silverstone as well as on the hulls of two Aprilia in the 125cc (Race World Wide, Khairuddin Fagerhaug and drivers)

Obviously nothing to do with a potential deal with Yamaha, which would give AirAsia visibility in prime position to rise considerably turnover.

Yamaha MotoGP: Lorenzo and Spies without a sponsor for 2011

The Yamaha is without a sponsor for the 2011 MotoGP , despite the world championship title, the constructors and the team for ii, caught a total success for the third consecutive year, but does not receive the much desired and needed sponsors going to replace the Fiat . The preliminary contacts with Telefonica , then with Petronas and Air Asia did not produce a new brand on the hull of Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies that risks to present the first test in February of Sepang with black or blue bike company. Lack of sponsors for the transfer of Valentino Rossi to Ducati ?

While Lorenzo realizes the usual calendar 2011 , the Yamaha is likely to arrive to test in Sepang next February with a black motorcycle without a sponsor.

If the Repsol had to make a greater effort to support the economic costs of the third movement of Casey Stoner and if Ducati line up to put their mark on Red , the M1 lives in a strange condition.

Although the three titles obtained, the abandonment of the main sponsor of Fiat , the transfer must for Rossi to Ducati did the rest.

After all the last thing that Lorenzo and Rossi have done together, it's a t-shirt for charity .

At the Yamaha lacks a proper and structured department dedicated to finding sponsors for the races.

The Italian will join team-mate Nicky Hayden at the traditional event in Madonna di Campiglio this week, where the Bologna factory’s 2011 MotoGP project will be officially presented.

Ducati’s 2011 MotoGP project will be officially presented this week at Madonna di Campiglio, with the celebration of the traditional Wrooom event. The gathering, which takes place at the Italian ski resort at the turn of each new year, will offer media and fans a first sighting of Valentino Rossi in Ducati red as the Italian joins team-mate Nicky Hayden for the week-long programme.

The riders, guests and media will arrive on Monday evening after which a busy schedule will commence. On Tuesday morning both Hayden and Rossi will be the focus of attention as they field questions from the gathered press in individual press conferences, following which they will pose for photographs with Team Manager Vittoriano Guareschi and then meet fans.

Then on Wednesday it will be the turn of Claudio Domenicali, boss of Ducati Corse, to answer enquiries about the new GP11 prototype after which the 2011 machine will be unveiled. Joining the MotoGP riders during the week will be Scuderia Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, who will be on hand to present the Italian Formula 1 team’s 2011 car.

On Friday a ski race and exhibition event on the iced lake involving both the MotoGP and F1 representatives will conclude the 21st edition of Wrooom, although Rossi’s participation in the activities is likely to be limited by his continuing recovery from shoulder surgery.
