yes and no! which do you think would burn a bigger hole, a burned up blown engine or servicing it every 1k? if you change your oil after more than 2k, smell the oil you just took out. if it smells burnt then guess what, your burning your engine. and also, try this, after taken your old oil out of the engine, get a coffee paper filter and pour your oil into it into a container underneath the filter, after it's all drained check the filter, if there is any small black pieces kinda like small grains of coffee, or even metal partials. then you may see the difference. I know oil is suppose to be good for 5000 miles. but after looking at my oil just after 1 klm. that's black and very thin, it makes me glad that i change it that much.
1 kilometer to a mile = 0.621
5,000 miles to Kilometer = 8,047.
Now if anyone dares, ride your bike for 8,000 klm and then check your oil.
