Good morning guys,
This week we took a trip (VegaLover and I) to Baler Aurora. I rented a Kawasaki Ninja 650 and VegaLover rode the little monster. This was her first trip further than 100 km by her self. On the way out we took the more northern route which brought us through Maria Aurora into Baler. The road was great until the last hour or so of riding. A few spots were unpaved and I thought this was the worst of the two routes (compared to south route) so after a few days at the beach we headed home, this time via the southern route towards Bongabong to Catabutuan. All i can say if your going to do this ride, avoid the southern route completely
. The northern route was 188 km and took us 5 hours due to chilling out and stopping lots to see things. The way back was 215 km and we spent 3.5 hours just on rock roads and the trip took us 8 hours total. First off, the paved section of the road was covered in sand and small rock so everytime you thought you could start to get some speed you had to slow down due to stuff on the road. I had my back end slide out NLT 3 times on this section and i was not really hitting it hard. Next we got into what i am guessing was about 50 km of rocky roads, not small rocks either, the big river type rock making the ride really challenging. After about 2 hours on this "pathway" we came across a small river crossing and a bunch of 4x4 guys who were playing in the area. There was one Japanese guy on a BMW 700gs bike who was coming from the other direction that we were headed. He said he had just crossed but the concrete slab under the water was slippery. I decided to take the Ninja across first. There was a big rocky downhill slope just to get to the flat crossing but i went slow and crossed without issues avoiding the deeper areas. Water was about 8-12 inches deep and wasnt too bad. Got down the road a bit and found out we still had 25 km to get to REAL ROAD, how demoralizing, 
. We ended up riding in about every kind of road condition imaginable for here. We had about a 25 meter path of slushy mud we had to motor through as well so the bikes were filthy and we were too 
. Finally made it out of the rocks and got some real roads under us and made it home safe and sound. All I can say is i am super proud of VegaLover, she road everything like a pro, and never complained about any of it. After 3.5 hours of riding over everything imaginable a lot of men would have been really ready to quit, but not her
