A Convention for All?
An interesting discussion has been brewing the past weeks regarding the apparent exclusion of Underbone Motorcycles and Scooters from the 16th National Motorcycle Convention of the National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs to be held in Cebu on March 4 to 7, 2010.
In the discussion, several points have been raised. A Cebu based poster confirmed that “small bike” (as opposed to their “BIG BIKE”) groups are allowed to join the convention given the following caveat..
“as long as they were active or participated in the previous annual converntions from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. However, only 25 member per club are allowed to join.”
For equalities sake, which I am not holding my breath for, I hope that the rule also applies to all members of the National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs whatever the Motorcycle Type.
A National Convention of (approximately) 3% of Motorcycles in the country. Oligarchy? Probably. Divisive? Most definitely. Discriminatory? You tell me.
