Head Best Cams For Sniper Mx?

Im having a hard time on choosing the right cams for me.

Im looking at UMA cams, Spec V cams and CMS cams.

My mechanic discouraged me of using Faito due to its cams that are easily damaged.

If you have opinions please share it. :D:)

Pocket the piston? Is that something like the piston getting shaved so that valves wont hit it? Cause my mechanic said that to me. Im all stock now. So im finding good parts for my first upgrade. He said when my cams, Valve springs, carb and cdi gets installed, why not port the head. And he added on that piston thing since he will open the machine.

valve pocketing in a stage 2 (high lift cams) is a safety precaution so as not to damaged your valves or in tagalog terms "tukod"

some mechanic have thier own style or adjustment to avoid this tukod thing aside from valve pocketing

thank you

in pocketing, your making a deeper hole that can withstand with the lift of the cams, enough room for the valves so that valves it will not hit the top of the piston

some mechanic have thier own style or adjustment to avoid this tukod thing aside from valve pocketing

thank you

yes i agree with you... but in terms of pocketing, that is 4 pockets right?... do you think that will not loss more compression than gaining by using stage 2 cam? if this is the case i rather use stage 1 cam like kawahara. less hassle pa... hehe!

my mechanic said that he is going to remove a little part of the piston, is this maybe because of my cams upgrade that I'm planning? did not understand him clearly on that part but just maybe, this is his method so that valves wont hit the piston, but still not sure of what he said or I misunderstood him. :):D

There's a thread of malaysian here comparing all the aftermarket cams, he bought CMS,YYPANG,LHK,KAWAHARA. i dont remember the other brands, but he state that the CMS is the most powerful of them all, and thats what im using right now, im using it for almost 2 years, my piston has a pocket and there's no problem at all, my bike is daily driven, and can do drag too Hehe.. believe it or not its a stockbore stock stroke but can go 160kph on pump gas.. you can see the videos of me beating higher CC than me but sniper too, on facebook.. my golly dugo ilong ko HAHA ✌

Ihmo. There is no such thing as best cam. Cams have different performance on each setup/mods. And cams usually need other performance parts or modifications.. . Changing the cams only will give you half step.imho again.. . Rcam= +more mods=budget.

If you are just for touring set up then I would advise to use K1... If you are more on racing type then go for CMS... although you need to pocket the piston for safety purposes...I have not used UMA so I could not tell what effects it would cause to our snipey...
