hey guys, share ko lang nagpatune-up ako ng snipee ko kanina sa 3s shop. the mechanic suggest na idisable na lang ang accelerator pump ko para daw maging powerful and economical at the same time, actually di ako naniniwala nung una pero nung test drive ko mas smooth ang powerful talaga... any experience guys? anung purpose kaya ng yamaha sa design na yun, any comment guys? tia

the purpose of accelerator pump is to maximize the acceleration of the bike. this good for semi-automatic model of 135lc since the engagement of the clutch unit of this model was too heavy need a more amount of fuel to drive the heavy clutch unit and automatic clutch Bel. this is good for all manual clutch model but be sure the bike wouldn't experience any clutch dragging or difficulty on clutch release operation on uphill or else your bike would bog down resulting into worn out piston or connecting rod. you can just adjust the accelerator pump depend on the opening of the throttle if you don't need the use of it just adjust it the way you want.

hmm even if you have accelerator pump (AC) and your clutch is sliding too i think same problem with manual clutch, clutch sliding/dragging is different story IMHO

on my opinion... accelerator pump + throttle positioning sensor (TPS) on carb = more power!!!

high end expensive carburetors have accelerator pump.
