hey guys. im from the phils. i have a stock sniper 135 or LC4V bike. my mechanic has a very wild imagination about simple modifications that could add up up 10-15 to ur speed and will give you a faster acceleration. all we did was just a simple top overhaul and made a paper-like bore gasket so that the piston will have a very hard compression. trust me. haha just pm me for more info. im kind. i can share you. there are no signs of side effects.

simple, buy a school exercise book normally they sell RM0.80 per piece, cut the book cover according to our LC head gasket size, take out the original gasket and replace with the book cover....

its simple

:? first you have to top overhaul your engine, then change your bore gasket into an paper thin like one, but be sure that the surface is level so that it wont leak. then if your not contented with it you re piece your bore, you can do that using a machine from a machine shop. take out the darkened part or blackened part of the bore near the cylinder head. and after that be sure to level the surface so that it won't leak. hehe. try it. so that you can see the difference.

squich band increase power

hi guys,

hawkeye and i meet today and we discussed about his mods
to his engine. it was a nice conversation. thanks jopet.

the mod he and his mechanic made was decreasing the space or the
area between the flat of the piston and the flat of the cylinder head at top dead center (TDC).

On the compression stroke, as the piston approaches TDC, the compressed mixture of fuel and air is "squished" to the remaining space of the combustion chamber where the spark plug and valves reside. The "squeezing" of the mixture creates turbulence and is expected to promote a better and more complete combustion.

this is called the "SQUISH BAND" just search the internet for this keyword.

the calculator can be found here
http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/squishcalc1.html

ive attached a drawing so that it will be more clearer.

Please note: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF ANYTHING DAMAGE TO THIS MODS.
I AM JUST SHOWING HOW THE MOD WAS DONE BASED FROM Hawkeye's mods
to his bike.

thanks hawkeye for this great mod!!!

its kinda hard for anyone who owns a bike to cut the cylinder block,
infact hawkeye even dont want to do this mod but because of his mechanics persistence, he did and his happy with the result.

hawkeyes mechanic is really good tuner considering he was able to think about this mod.

i was not able to try hawkeyes bike because its already late in the evening
and i have a long travel ...

but soon ill try :) prepare your bike jopet heheheh

CR

Here we go again. Hawkey135 method is simply to increase engine compression ratio. The higher the CR, meaning that the fuel is compressed more, thus more power generated and cleaner emission (CR = volume of combustion chamber when piston at TDC divide by the volume at BDC). Another method, by using dome piston, shaving cylinder block, head, longer conrod.

Increasing CR can also cause fuel to pre-ignite. Meaning that the air-fuel mixture self ignited before the spark plug produce spark to ignited the mixture. This can cause internal engine damage. To avoid this, high compression engine use fuel with higher octane rating. Remember when refueling, there is "RON 97". That is the octane rating number. When on pump gas, never exceed CR of 11:1 or you'll end up blaming yourself for the rest of your life.

While the "Super Long Article" talk about reshaping the combustion chamber. I didn't read the whole article, but from the first few paragraph and the picture, i got the picture.

what do you think?

it works a friend of mine did it in his honda wave too and maybe its the faster honda wave in my city :)
(he did more modification not only that)

my question is:

in philippines
we have available
Caltex Gold = Octane 95
Petron Blaze = Octane 96

OCTANE 95 or 96 can be considered as HIGH OCTANE RATING?

thanks

High octane fuel have octane rating RON99 and above. Both the fuel you mention is the 'normal' fuel, used by majority road user.

Thats a really good idea. but.... when youre on high speed let say 100-120 km/h, is it possible that the top of the chamber will hit the pistons due to reduced space of the chamber?

worst scenario.... maybe your engine will wore out faster than the usual span of time.

I just thought of that, I don't know if its possible....

Hey traxx, youve forgot about Petron's XCS. Ii has a 95 percent octane rating.

I used Blaze at first but a full tank can only reach for approx. 80-100 kms if your travelling at least 60-80 kms/hr. but slower that that, your bike will just eat your fuel like a hungry boy.

Ive been using XCS now, lower octane rating but I can say that I can save more money but same mileage.

I oso research bout this long time ago. These are in the squish band, the air mixture is in thermal eq with the cylinder wall, so it is not burned. By reducing the area, u r burning more of the air mixture.

its a simple concept, not onli applies in the squish band, but also every nooks n crannies in the combustion chamber.

but it is hard to apply effectively on a 4 stroke engine, coz of the valve clearance.

all cubs engines seems to have a large squish distance
