The bad news is, most of the top oil producer includes friction modifier in their oil especially for 10W-40 and below. There is 10W-30 (Royal Purple Max Cycle series) for bike, but I can't find in Malaysia. Super oil like Mobil1 have 0W-40 all the way to 0W-10. I've tried 0W-20 once and straight away drain them out on the 2nd day because the clutch is slipping too much, lol.
engine oil (EO) using friction modifier??
i never heard motorcycle EO use this thing..
unless u r using car EO on your bike..

Well, I found it written at cover pack, though it 800ml packing.
Maybe the oil I have is for bike with dry clutch system (dry sump)?
But so far I know most bike use wet sump.
Only non-sportster model Harleys have dry sump clutch.

Weird isn't it?

Yes, I am using car EO as it is cheaper. I've tried Hi-Rev 10W-40 bike EO and 10W-40 car EO. I don't feel differences except the price :)

I can not find any MOTUL oil here. I want to know why. I'm using ELF full synthetic 10w50. i was using the Shell full synthetic10w40, and i had clutch burning on long drives. anyway back to the ELF, after about 4 days of using the Shell, i changed the oil because of the clutch slipping, to the elf, and it was a big differance. smooth ride, almost no vibration in the engine, shifting is like butter, and i can also go into 4th at about 40klm/h.
Yeah, I never like Shell actually. Their semi-synthetic also felt very sluggish compared to Motul semi. ELF is top class oil as well, i have a few frens using them and they are all happy =D

I am wondering how long is ur long drives? My maximum is about 2.5 hours (1 hour is super high rpm in hill run) every week on EX5, using 5W-40 Hi-rev Gold. Haven't really tried 135LC long hour on 5W-30. I'll share my experience here after the hill run on next weekend ;)

Oh well, the current Royal-Purple 5W-30 has really smooth shifting too. I can easily pickup at low rpm compared to Motul 10W-40 (Semi). If this rating doesn't burn the clutch I'll continue to use it =D
