Troubleshooting
Sequential LED Tail Lights:
Q1: I have installed the Sequential tail lights as per the instructions. The park and brake lights work fine but only the first two columns of LEDs blink on both sides and it is blinking really fast when I activate the turn signals. What should I check for?
A1: Three reasons that could cause this:
1) You may be required to start the bike in order for the sequential signals to work as the alternator provides additional voltage to the system. This is sometimes caused by a weak battery that can no longer hold a good charge.
2) Aftermarket LED turn signal/park lights are installed up front without resistors - your entire system needs to be blinking at the normal blink rate prior to the install in order for the sequential signals to work. We recommend to wire up load resistors on each of the front LED turn signals.
3) There is not enough resistance on the front signals - either incandescent bulbs less than 21W are used or no front signal lights are connected. An alternative solution is to upgrade to an electronic flasher relay.
Q2: Is there any modification required to install this tail light?
A2: The tail light is designed as a complete bolt on with zero modifications, but you are required to use the included sub harness to make the installation possible.
Q3: Can I continue to use my aftermarket electronic flasher relay or do I need to revert back to my stock flasher relay?
A3: The Sequential system is designed to be used with your factory load style flasher relay but you will need to use the included sub harness. If you wish to use an aftermarket electronic flasher relay, it must have the same timings as your stock relay. If this is the case, the sub harness will be installed in the same manner as the factory relay.
Q4: I have installed the Sequential tail light as per the instructions and the park, brake, or signals do not work at all. What did I do wrong?
A4: Double check all the connections. Make sure there is good contact and that there is no exposed metal that could cause a short. Make sure you are not running an aftermarket LED front park/turn signal combo light. If so, disable the park function and run it as a straight turn signal. If all connections seem good you need to isolate the problem. Remove the unit from the bike. Use a spare battery or 12V power supply and test all the connections. Test each function wire by wire. Black=Ground, Red=Park, White=Brake, Yellow=Right Signal, Blue=Left Signal. Once determined if the tail light is defective please contact us for warranty exchange. Please have your order number or auction number ready. If the tail light is functional, the problem lies within the sub harness or incompatible components on the bike itself.
Non-Sequential LED Tail Lights:
Q5: How do I connect the park and brake lights?
A5: The park and brake lights have a plug and play harness or connector so no modificaton is required to hook those up (with exception of Ducati and Buell)
Q6: How do I connect the integrated signals?
A6: You need to hardwire them into the positive side your factory signal harness if the universal connector is not compatible with your factory plug. Don't worry about the ground as it is shared through the main harness. If you need to hardwire the signals we recommend using those quick connectors that joins two wires together when you crimp them. They can be bought at your local automotive parts store.
Q7: My blinkers flash abnormally fast after I hooked up the signals. What went wrong?
A7: When you install LED signal lights the voltage drawn from the circuit is so small the flasher relay senses no current running through the system and automatically creates fast or abnormal blinking speeds to indicate to the rider that the light bulb has blown out. In this case you would need to install load resistors in parallel to take the load of the line. Please follow this diagram for correct installation:

Q8: My brake lights are on all the time even when I am not braking. What should I do?
A8: In this situation there are two things to check: 1) Double check if the wires on the main harness are inserted the correct way into the plug. Sometimes the tail lights are manufactured incorrectly. Simply remove the brake and park wires (usually red and white respectively) and swap them around. Use a paperclip or tooth pick to assist you in removing the pin from the plug head. 2) For bikes that use Type A style (light bulb plug) you need to check if the connector is inserted the correct way into the socket and if the 3 wire leads are facing the correct way. If not please bend them up and refold them the correct way and use your stock light bulb to assist in finding the correct position.
Q9: When I hookup the integrated turn signals the park and brake lights fade away and turn off completely or when I start my engine the tail light just does not work? What went wrong?
A9: The tail light acts that way normally when the park/brake and signal circuits are crossed. Double check your wiring especially the signals and make sure no bare wires are exposed. Another factor that contributes to this problem is that if you have front LED park/signals lights installed up front. Some aftermarket companies make the flush mount LED turn signals that combine the park and signal circuits together. You need to unplug and or disable the park lights and just run them as signals lights.
