guys..ive just installed an xbox cdi, and a kitti racing cam for my bike....another thing im using an open pipe. whats bothering me is that after installing the cam i have this annoyng sound evrytime i deccelerate. i dont know if im making sense here guys... i just dont know how to explain it...i believe its a "backfire". The mechanic have already tried adjusting the carb still the backfiring sound is present.. what do you think is the problem? anyone here who have installed a racing cam without a backfiring sound? help me on this guys thanks...

I think you better bring it to a good mechanic for a tune up. its like a poping sound on the exhaust when you decrease speed. its something to do with the engine timing. By the way, what kind of cams you installed on your sniper? Is it stock, stage 1, 2, or 3? Just tell to the mechanic that you need to tune up your bike. they know what they will do.

One more thing, better bring your bike to a trusted and best mechanic in your place. Some mechanics instead of making it better, your bike will become worst than before.

Ride safe man. :)

Logically the back firing happened because when you totally close the throttle there still some gas fumes enter the combustion chamber. Normally only little amount from its capillary channel for idle position.

Well that was what I thought. hehe :) :)

hey guys, it is posible that his timeing is off?? like on an older car when you get a full tune up, you have to have the timing checked to make sure it's not misfiring? is that posable on our bikes??

hey marky_hester, you better have your timing gear checked. it's the carb is adjusted right, and it's still spitting, then your timing is off.

Hey marky! its not your carb & your cam, its your cdi that has a problem. Return it to the seller & get another xbox cdi instead. Some xbox has a problem like that. Im sure about it bec it happened to my pal's T135.

hope this helps!

mas, i agree but maybe an intermittent current coming from the cdi that makes the T135 back fire!

bro based on experience... try adjusting the spark plug... maybe the tip (the one that is bend) is closer enough.. try adjust it outward

Hey Marky!
Dont do anything on your carb, your prob is not your carb..
heres the beast way..
1)Re-install your stock cdi..
then test it, if its steel there. Jus leave your stock cdi instaled.
2)Check the timing..
it is placed correctly? if not re-timed..
3) Test it..
If the prob steel there...Go to the valves, Bro..

If aint youre still agresive.. Ans this Q:
a)Did you do the valve pocketing?
b)Did you test it first if the valve hit the piston?
c)Is the torque still heavy as it should be?
If the ans are No.. Your valve are already bended..

i think that snipe attack is correct.. coz i also installed a racing cam on my sniper. you should aslo check the exhausts bacause i also installed the same pipe. the pipe is also not that strong so there might be problem with it.. ok.. :D
