Koso Digital speedo + Big carb = Overheat icon blinking

The title explains it all.

I noticed that the Koso digital speedo's thermal icon blinks when the power switch is on. When I switch on and have the engine running it stays on a constant light.

This happened when I installed a keihin 27mm..

I also noticed that when I plug again the tps socket from the stock carburetor the thermal light does not have any issues.

Since the Keihin carb does not have any socket for tps what can I do to resolve this?

Hope someone can enlighten my confusion and provide solution/s.

Thanks.

tps sensor maybe not properly installed,,,,its very sensitive....try to consult yamaha 3s....

There is no TPS sensor for my carb...

Does the thermal light indicator connects TPS sensor??

afaik tps sensor is for your throttle...not temp..

correct me if I'm wrong...

TPS malfunction/removal will also lights up the temp light indicator same as if the MC has faulty wiring..

For the benefit of others...

Here's what I've come up with

I removed the TPS from the carburetor. The white plastic (beak like shape) has a spring that retracts, it fits to the hole of the TPS sensor. The plastic is included in the assembly that covers the top part of the carburetor. Not really sure how it works since when you close the cover, it just retracts and twist the plastic in the hole of the TPS.

here's the assembly. (#20 is the TPS)

I just used a piece of thick metal wiring, a small and medium cable tie.

I bend the metal wire to a horse shoe like shape > tight fitted it on the TPS sensor > Secured with a small cable tie.

Then Just plug it in back to the male socket and use a bigger cable tie to secure it.

That's it!

The thermal / overheat switch is not blinking anymore.

I am yet to find out the repercussion of this mod. My main goal is to have that thermal switch stop blinking becuase the TPS socket was removed...

but hey, it works for me..

Thanks

Neat and simple. I do not have the temp blinking problem but would this enable the TPS to function again?

Finally someone actually uses English in the threads. ;)

@ duo

theoretically it should work since it is plugged in back to the socket (or at least that's how I see it). Lets wait for the masters to confirm that.

But nothing is giving it feedback. For the stock carb the plastic beak thingy is actually moving the tiny thing inside the black TPS thingy. Sorry I do not know the terms.

I've done this already following the diagram above. Yes, The blinking red light is gone, the thermal indicator light is not lit after starting the engine. My problem is that the red light reappears when the engine temperature reaches a certain level. Anyway, at least the discomfort of the problem has been eliminated. Thanks!
