Hi guys,

ive got new mods for our Yamaha T135 bike and also it can be used for other motorcycle too.
its a motorcycle sidestand warning indicator.

what it does is, it will warn you via warning sound if your side stand is still down when your on the first gear.
this mod is very important and will reduce motorcycle accidents.

once major cause of motorcycle accident is due to the SIDE STAND still down when turning left.
this mod will save you.

check the video..

I dont quite follow da video as you moved it a bit roughly.
Some Question:
- Da switch, is it push off one?
- If your gear is other than 1st, there'll be no buzzing right?
- To have both signal lamp blinkin then we must put 2 pieces of diode?

the switch is installed inside the side stand spring.
if the sidestand is DOWN, then the ff will happen
- Neutral gear = Buzzer is OFF
-First gear = Buzzer is ON

to deactivate buzzer, then put the sidestand up.

- If your gear is other than 1st, there'll be no buzzing right?
yes only on first gear, no need for other gears since you will
notice the buzz alarm.

the signal light flasher is just where i get the POSITIVE source for the buzzer to work.
the sidestand indicator will only produce BUZZ sound.

you can also use the sidestand indicator buzzer as a signal light buzzer.
using diodes will do the trick.

with the diode and the buzzer might be better traxxas. put the flashing diode at the yamaha logo on the dash panel.

Traxxas, u know what would be better? To hook up an "ignition kill line" which connects to the kickstand to the engine, almost like a kill switch for the ignition but without the switch.

This idea come from the Honda Clicks here in Thailand. Is it the same there in other countries? I think this system is great and should be reinforced into our bikes.

I would like to go and consult some mechs at the Honda showroom about this and ask if they can install this system on my bike, or give me the schematics of how to do it.

Tony, I dont quite follow you as honda here dont use that, i think.
You mean no ignition when side standed, dont you?
If so, how about having the bike warmed up.
Just tell me more, will you?

Mas Catoer, here the Honda Clicks have a system for the safety regulations which is quite good I believe. Here are a few examples:

1: Your riding, and then come to a stop to park your bike, you dont turn the engine key just yet but put down the kickstand and the bike shuts down.

2: You want to start the bike while the kickstand is still down but it wont because of the cutoff line to the stand to the engine, but once you kick the stand up, then your engine will start when u hit the hand start or kickstart.

So basically, this system is similar to traxxas' idea, except this system is from Honda and works with the new bikes like Clicks and Airblades, but no Honda waves or other bikes.

MC you dont have this system there?

@mio
in the system you mentioned, its good BUT
you cannot leave your bike if you want to warmed up
because if you putdown the sidestand, engine will be off.

i personally dont like that system as i warmup my bike always
every morning i dont want to sit there for 3 minutes doing nothing
but sit and wait till its warmed up.

@mascatoer
the system i used will support warmed up.
-side stand down engine off(warning sound OFF)
-side stand down, engine on (warning sound OFF)

you start driving your bike
-side stand down, engine on, first gear (warning sound activated)

because you hear the warning sound, you immediately warned
that the side stand is still down position, so you put the side stand up
and the warning sound will deactivated.

-side stand up, engine on, first gear (warning sound OFF)

Because of that system, it will also warn you of accidentaly starting
your engine with the first gear is engaged.

GO for a ride now

Well I get it all then.
The Honda system mentioned by Tony is designed for total safety.
The Trax mods is merely to warn us for safety also.
I might choose the second one. let the bike warmed up while having breakfast. Just dificult to find waterproof sw (the brake light sw is quite possible)
Actualy temporary electronic shut off can be made if we accidentaly kick the side stand down. But dont wanna have too many cables installed.
Love this idea... bcoz I've been so damn careless when coming to this side stand. Most of the time.

Both systems are good. Trax system (sounds like a brand name :) ) is cool and safe and the Honda system is safe but not cool. Trax, I may need a little more explanation on this mod :) it's pretty darn difficult to follow
