Make your life easier, bro. Just get an aftermarket performance muffler. There's a lot to choose from.

i think the best thing to do is to inquire directly to muffler manufacturers, they could give you some tips or ideas what and how to do it if you're planning to DIY it.. BTW i'm not sure if it is really possible, i mean if you want to modify your stock muffler using a bigger elbow or tube but maintaing its low profile sound considering that you have an upgraded engine :D there could be some features of the stock muffler that would be sacrficed... but if its really possible then PERFECT! COUNT ME IN! :D

I agree with sir nyrO. When we alter something with our stock mufflers, some of it features will be sacrificed/compromised. I use to see the stock mufflers of honda xrm 125 altered and it doesn't sound good but i just don't know about its performance.

i think sir @ricky0822 have replaced the stock elbow of his former stock muffler with stainless tube but i'm not sure if it is the standard size elbow just like we usually see on the streets the so called "kalkal pipe" maybe he can give you some food for thoughts..

@erhick28 yeah idol @nyr0 was right i change my stock pipe into power pipe and fabricated from 4N shop.,, the tube is bigger than the tube of stock pipe and it was great sound and have power too... lesser sound than nob1 but the disadvantage is..,, the pipe was so heavy :D

if you modified your stock exhaust pipe or you want to change your elbow to stainless one, first you should consider your engine set-up.. if you have upgraded engine internals such as valve, cams, piston, big carb etc. then go to big elbow diameter. but if you have stock engine no upgraded internal parts, it should be and advisable to stay to the stock size (diameter) of your elbow.. and one important thing when changing the elbow of exhaust pipe, the diameter of the elbow should be the same or almost the same size as the end tip of the canister or else it will be come "sungaw" or sometimes you will encountered backfire problem.. or you can modified your stock exhaust by removing the catalyzer from the canister to gain more power like the "kalkal" pipe no restrictions inside the canister.. hope it help... imho only... ;)
