problem after a long ride.anyone plss help me!

last week,i travelled from my hometown to my study place(about 460km).
i ride constantly around 100km/h-120km/h on highway(malaysia's speedometer).next day after that,when i start the engine,when i pull the throttle,it feels like the engine's rpm a lil bit slow to response.when i pull the throttle at ful blast suddently in idling speed,it seems to be choking and the engine die.i never had this problem before.i thought maybe its carburator problem.

for your info,my odometer is below 7000KM

when running on road,it seems to be okay.
if i got time,i'll try to get to 120km/h and see if got any problem
Kuala lumpur road is too crowded to get to that speed

anyone please help me

or maybe you didn't let the engine warm up first. when you start the engine turn the choke to the left, the choke is located under the left button for the horn, after the engine starts turn the choke back to the right. (choke setting, turn to left all the way is ( on ) get the engine started turn to right to the middle half way for 1 minute, then continue turning to right all the way ( off))
then let your engine run for 5 to 10 minutes for engine warm up before pulling on the throttle all they way in (reving), that's bad for the piston and rings. so don't do that. every day you should do this, also, after doing such a long ride at one time, i would recommend changing the oil and checking the spark plug, it's not necessary, but just for added safety.


anyway, thats my thought, because i have the same problem every morning when i start my engine, i have to let it warm up before reving or driving.

thnks for your advices.i think maybe its time for me to use the choke in the morning.i never use the choke before.

when i first got my bike, i never used the choke eather, but after my first long long ride i had to use it.

my problem was,it hard to start my bike in the morning....
it take 5 to 7 stroke before the engine start...

Thats normal stuff, better use the kick starter and the choke. try to warm it up before you use it. Its a good habit, just making the life of the engine much longer.

when i first bought my bike,need just one kickstart and the engine smoothly running.this is my 3rd time long ride.it fells a lil odd that suddently my bike need choke.i always do proper warm-up in the morning

its been 2 weeks after my long ride.now the choking problem is reducing.maybe my bike is shocking after a long ride.i usually travel not exceed than 10KM a day.or maybe it normal for our bike

already bought a new engine oil but too bz to change the oil.a mechanic says that iridium spark plug is not suitable for the hot weather in malaysia.

I also use iridium and so far I have no problem. Iridium plugs is designed to stand on very high temperature unlike ordinary plugs. It also gives a bigger spark so the bike will start easily especially on cold weathers. just change the oil and get a good one. try to use yamahalube.

yeah i think u need to change your engine oil,coz i always long ride more than 400km,its true,im in johore and i study in perak,my bike is 1year 3months now,but i have no prob when start it in the morning coz i always do the regular maintenance,just one kick and my baby runs like new in the morning.... :)

before this i used shell advance vsx..after 5000KM i start using motul 5100 10w-40.and now i still using motul.smoother than shell advance vsx.also great on long ride.

when u travel a long ride,how many times your pit stop?my home is in Terengganu and i study in KL.no problem riding uphill at Bukit Tinggi area with motul 5100 10w-40.using shell advance vsx,i feel like losing horsepower before reaching the peak.

Yeah, it may be caused by dirty carb. Well, i do hard throttling every weekend for 100km+ on hill run, about 2 hours straight. The engine always run at its limit. I still can use electric starter very easily early in the morning (7am). I am using V-power since 0km odo until now and Royal Purple 10W-40 full synthetic since 1000km odo. I only need to use choke when the bike was left idle for 1 week +.

cant hardly tell u,i just stop to refuel only,maybe 3-4times i guess....

royal purple,,sound interesting,,how much it cost?
im using shell V-power,sumtimes Shell Super or Petronas Primax,,
i think V-power is the best.

my bike just 7000KM odo,,doesnt its too early to do top overhaul?

what product is the best to clear our carb?

for me,better detach your carb and then clean it manually,use compressed air to remove all dust that stuck in your carb...
