T135 actual speed vs speedo speed

Hi guys, early morning 6am today I tried running side by side with my friend's Perodua Kancil to check the accuracy of my speedometer. Although it might have some error in the car speedo itself, hopefully this can give you a general idea on how fake our speedo are :p

Left : Perodua Kancil speedo
Right : Yamaha T135 speedo

40kph = near to 50kph
50kph = exactly 60 kph
60kph = slightly over 70kph
70kph = near to 85 kph
80kph = slightly over 95kph

The conclusion is, we have about 20% at every single speed. Hence, running at 120kph on our speedo = ~100kph actual speed, while 160kph = ~133kph.

From traxxas-modifier thread here
We can actually estimate how far our max speed can go for each gear on our speedometer

1st gear : 55kph (actual 45kph)
2nd gear : 85kph (actual 70kph)
3rd gear : 115kph (actual 96kph)
4th gear : 160kph? (actual 133kph)

* note: yesterday night i get a chance to compare my speedo with my friend's new Honda City. When I get 70kph he is running slightly less than 60kph. (about 20% difference too).

If you guys have any comparison, please share out to everybody ;)

I discovered this applies only for 4th gear. I am not sure about the others yet. When my engine goes beyond 3000km, will try to rev it hard on every gear at every speed to have better accuracy.

I've actually computed a list of actual speed on each gear based on the stock wheel diameters, gear ratios and RPM at 9000rpm. It seems like the theoretical max speed can go about 120kph at 9000rpm.

car speedo are different for moped like our T135SE. do not compare to other vehicles. juz modify ur analog spedo to electronic 1. mybe, GPS system, infrared sensor, or RPM gauge will do.

Last year I went to Puspakom and have my Proton checked. They found my Proton Wira meter reading is 3% below actual speed! ! Dont assume, send your LC for speed calibration. Who knows that your LC meter reading is correct?.... LOL..

philippine speedo is quite more accurate...i think it is the most accurate among the underbones here
Phillippines sniper speedo is 9% off

100kph sniper speedo = 91kph real speed using my veypor and my gps device :)

For Malaysian, send your bike to Puspakom (Malaysian Authorised body to insect your vehicles) for meter calibration purpose. Puspakom will issue report on your lc meter reading versus actual speed.

Dont assume, be clear or clarify !
