in short its a gear indicator sensor.
some tried to cut it off from second gear and directi connected it to ground.
some say it helps, but i dont know....

try to experiment bro and tell us your experience...

I did try to have this pink wire experimented for quiet sometime.

First thing, i did removed or just cut off this pink wire from the CDI, the result is not good because my bike seem to have less power in 4th gear...

Secondly, i cut off this pink wire from the CDI and connect it to ground, it did help increase somewhat the torque of the bike even at high rpm. In fact I've used this second technique for several months and i'm satisfied with this minor modification.., But not until my REXTOR cdi arrived.

Now that I've been using REXTOR cdi, I observed that this second mod has somewhat a similar effect of my cdi advancer, though it is not really that powerful as using an actual REXTOR cdi.

NOTE: This is just my observation..., if your cdi is stock, try second mod, and feel the difference.

i tried myself removing the tps yesterday and believe it or not, i can feel more power from 1st to 4th gear. All stock.

Guys what kind of pink wire you are refering in connecting to the ground, the pink wire from the cdi or from the engine?

The pink wire from the CDI bro... When it is cut off, just connect the remaining pink wire from the CDI to ground.

haen:
Is the effect of grounding the pink wire equivalent to swithching the tps on thinking that the gear is always on the 2nd position?

can you confirm if the cdi, in effect, is always in advance mode? tnx..

to anyone who already tried this mode:

what about the topspeed?

BTW, at what rpm the limiter will set in? are the limiter constant on all gear position? tnx again..

actually i really want to know, if we change the stock carb to racing one, and not using tps together after that..what will happen?what effect for the performance and sensor and what so ever..thx..

TPS purpose is to provide best power at all rpm.

if youve noticed new dirtbikes today have TPS installed
because they need good power at any given load.

if you install a new carb without TPS, then your bike will increase power and speed.

but the power and speed will not be distributed in all rpm/powerband.
power and speed may be noticed on top end ...

but if you compare stock carb with tps and bigger carb without tps
definitely bigger carb will win.

But if you compare bigger carb with tps and bigger carb without tps
definitely bigger carb with tps will win.

Hey Traxxas
How can you connect 2 poles of the Volt meter to the TPS and get the value 5.0 volt ?

thx a lot traxxas..i understand now..but what happen to our cooling fan? are we must do a switch to activate the fan or the fan sensor still can detect temperature automaticly then run the fan?

Found this info very helpful...TQ Bro...

my Question....Friend of mine had recommended me installing Keihin carb ( 28mm -wonder whether is it with or w/out tps ( i'm using cdi brt _Max-can adjust rpm ) ...is it recommendable ???

From your post , i noticed that carb w/out tps will produce more speed than carb with TPS ..so...i'm wuite interested to have biger carb installed to my LC..

well you can install tps to your aftermarket carb.
some modifications needed...
all you need is to remove the TPS sensor at the stock carb
and fabricate some mechanical device to also move the tps
sensor as your increase the throttle.

your post is really helful...i hope youll take time this.

i tot of asking you something about the tps since somebody adjusted mine as recommended here in the forum with regard to the probelm of my mc.

my mc is having a hesitation during start up. i tot it was just the lining so ive change both the lining and the spring with after market...but the problem wasn't solve at all...ive change my cdi (BRT smart-i adjustable to 16,000 rpm). i post next time( i don't know how to adjustr either becasue it has 2 adjustments the other is temp).

about the adjustment..i doubt it is not perfectly adjusted...the problem is still there...and worst is it consumes more fuel now

any help you will extend wud be appreciated...thanks
or maybe direct me to where and who cud help me with this..i around caloocan area.

thanks bro.

cold start up is really hard. you have to use the choke to make the A/F mixture rich. I think your air fuel mixture is somehow lean. try to adjust it clockwise or better yet to the stock settings which is 1 5/8 turns. check also the spark plug's color. It happens also to my bike every morning. try warming up first the engine. I noticed that taking off immediately after start up, the bike seems to be in slow motion as if it has no power.

I hope it helped you.
