Using a fan to increase airflow?

This thing just pop out of my mind during school to day
What if we intall a small fan over the middle panel hole
Use it to draw more cold air into the air box, since that hole is in the middle of the bike, i see alot of air restriction.
So simulating the ram hood on car, we can ram more cold air into the engine.
Hows that sound?

Im not talking about using air to cool the engine, but raming air into the airbox for increasing performance.

Like a short ram intake in a car.

Replacing our air filter with K&N increase performance a little because more air is flowing in the combustion chamber, so i figure then we can use a fan to RAM air into the airbox for even more performance.

Want more performance take out your airfilter and airbox..open all ..
Hmm you try it later give us the result ok

well, that is sacrify your engine life because dust can get into the chamber. which aint good at all.
ill definitely try it, just that my t135 is hafl way around the world right now, have to wait till summer :(

Might as well route a duct to the front of the bike straight into your airbox. Keep your air box fully sealed and leak-proof. Voila, Ram Air Intake. At speeds above 200kph, you're looking at a 2-3% increase in pressure inside the airbox. Good for perhaps 0.1 - 0.2hp increase on a T135 with proper jetting/ setup/ blah blah..

Electric fan, don't bother. Car acceossories market have many of such gimicks. Useless. don't generate enough air to work. In fact, bike also have. From Hurricane, thailand.

Alternative is hook up a super-charger onto your crank. Boost it 1bar, maybe you might see a couple of hp extra with a EFI system to handle extra fuel needed. Turbo is hard to work on a single.

yes t135 air intake is restricted.
thats why i modded my airfilter box to make my engine breath more.
see pics attached.

K&N air filter and modified top cover.
youve got more breathable engine :)

RAM AIR EFFECT is used by yamaha R6.

as described from motorcyle usa:
Air is rammed into the R6's intake where is funnels through the frame, pressurizing its airbox for greater power at high speeds.

more info on ram air here

Puting a hoseduct from front cowling to air filter box is good
but as stroker said, it might produce low results for speeds
less than 200kph.

Putting a fan (using computer fan) is also good idea but
still your engine will still enhaling the "warm air" coming from the engine heat
and radiator.

"cold air" and more breathable engine is really what makes our engine produce more power.
if we can find a way to direct "COLD AIR" into our airfilter
that would be better :)

the question is HOW?

well im thinking drawing more outside air into the airbox will somewhat dilute the hot air from the radiator and the engine, so technically, it should help abit
Hot air+cold air=not so hot air > hot engine air :D
And a computer fan is like what, 5 bucks, cheap. I will try it to see how it goes
Plus i have a complete r6 fairing with ram air hose, so will try that too haha

Me and my fairings is 10000 miles away from my t135 exciter bro, have to wait till summer!!!!!!
So damn annoying when mods just pop out of my head and no bike to try !!!!

hmm... if you really want to mods the air filter box for more cold air.... its better to use peltier and modified it... put some fan on it...

this is the water cooler of high end computer. Before i have this water cooling system with tube connected to a fan for both processor and video card. I can't recall how much are those. (I'm using laptop now). I think that concept is good since you will not required to expose your air suction to element.

cdrking does have some peltier gadget (usb cooler)
though its 5volts it can be converted into 12volts using car usb adapter.

go guys do have some mods about it and share it to us.
remember cooler air = more power!

I agree with you that. Common mobile car charger has 5.0 v output. but how much it say for the amperage inputt of peltier?usual car charge has output of 350mA to 500mA or 600 mA(consider as far charger).because we have to consider amperage and voltage consumption of cooling fan.
So it means the peltier facing inside with fan forcing cold air inside the filter. let me try to provide some drawing and let us see everyone's input. Can somebody provide clear distance between the filter and enclosure. and also clearance between filter and inner bottom of suction housing. So we can tell how much clearance we have in modding this item. How much are those peltier?
