Maybe you should bring the cylinder head with the piston when you go to the machine shop..for the machinist to measure the extent of lift or "sobra" of the valves that will probably hit the piston..in that way you can have the basis on how deep will be the groove on the piston and of course the angle of the valve pockets.Take note that some pistons have thinner walls so be careful on doing the valve pocketing. or ask the machinist if they have done valve pocketing before..just to make sure if they get the idea.

Try to measure the opening of the valve over lap..it is the time when both of the valves are open..and the piston is almost on Top Dead Center..so it is the most delicate time when you can have "Tukod" effect.

I can only give you tips bro... Posting and txting is not enough..
If you really have the guts & money,.. hehe! Google it bro.. Study then apply.. avoid mistakes, always double check..
No human knows everything when they born.. its just a matter of learning.. Go bro.. :)

Sir the best thing to do your piston pocketing is to know what is the clearance between the valve and the piston.
find also the exact location of the valve pocket..
that can be done by simple clay testing...:) 261020122658.jpg
then you can proceed to machine shop for a valve pocket job or you can use a dremel/abrassive to cut the valve pocket...
