Valve Questions

Damaging the valve tip its not normal especially on stock set,..
To close or no clearance will damage the tip..

valve tip not only in motor cycle but valves use in 4stroke internal combustion tends to wear out during long services life..the tips are normally hardened to sustain the forces & direct contact between the valve adjusting screw and the valve spring, 20k to 30k kilometers odo reading must check the condition of the valve tip...valvetrain design, hardening process & quality of materials, excessive heat , poor lubrication , low quality oil, excessive spring pressure and cam profile and lifts are the factors affecting valve tip wear either its excessive or normal wear..
other designs like as of r150 where in valve tips and the shims tappet are full contact all the time ( with out clearance) but does not wear out pre maturely as in our snipers..:)

Thanks for the enlightening info. bro, now i know..:coffee:
In other very simple explaination, "every moving parts in a engine have there lifetime.." Right?
That is why we replace or re-adjust the parts..
But the issue here is why the valves wear faster the way factory estimated?.. correct me if im wrong.
Base on my experience valve wear/damage quickly due to too close gap clearance..

Sir with due respect, close gapping of valve to valve adjuster screw as per my experience does not cause pre mature wear..in fact ive been using closer gap especially on low duration cam to free up extra power at higher rpm..what i experience is a cheaper or locally fabricated valve with low quality materials , with a high lift long duration cam at a very stiff valve spring wear faster...

will you believe me guys if i tell you that valve springs affects the life of our valve?
we tried yypang v spring and after 5000km the valves tip are wear.
we tried cms, ncy, etc.
but when we tried vixion valve spring, after a 5000km, valves tip still look brandnew

I experiece it in every stock parts bro.,, try ir to believe... :)

well sir how can we explain why...in hydraulic tappet where in there is zero clearance did not exhibit such phenomenon ...
This kind of discussion is good for everybody,,,iam glad that im learning from your vast experience..:)

At zero clearance, especially at high rpm & in long ride, friction easily take place between the valve & tappet due to low force,( like hammering a nail, you cannot nailed it just by pushing the nail down with the hammer), insted.. the tappet will rub the valve when pushing it down with a great force, that is why it must have gap, And that is why the so-called phenomenon happens.. :)

So, for the good of everybody especially who have stock engine, just follow the manual.. in. 10 ex 15.
Much better if you change the valve & tappet if it is already ruined or damage or if the so-called phenomenon happened..

I also encountered stock cam ruined or damage or the so-called phenomenon happened due to zero clearance, thrice. :)

whew, are we in the english speaking section? ahehehe...
yung akin kaka-replace lang ng mech ko, cguro dahil sa katagalan na rin..naka-50K+ na din kc takbo ng MC ko eh on stock engine.
any part of our MC cannot last forever, only diamonds are forever..:D

Yes, this is the nose bleed section.. haha!
You're right paps, that is normal in 50k+ or -... we can extend the life of some moving parts on our engine, but not last forever.. :coffee:
