hi to all. very interesting topic you have here, may i ask the experts what would be the right width and depth for the groove i'll try to have this applied on a mio 2valve with a bore of 52mm

or should i try the 1.5mm depth and 3mm wide specs posted earlier?

hoping for your answers..

finally tried this, and i went with the 1.5mm deep and 3mm wide groove.. also removed the bottom gasket... and the result was, ahmmm.. explosive.... to say the least....

bro thats great!

post pics please... :)
 didn't have the presence of mind to take some, anyways initial findings were better acceleration and solid mid-range power. haven't tested my top end yet..

albert thats good photo...

:)

how did you cut the groove?
i use steel saw in cutting it...

how about you?
I used steel saw blade too and a triangular file. I just made the modification yesterday and hope to give you info soon ! So far i noticed that the engine ran smoother, quieter and looks like the power band became wider ! By the way, the photo is a vixion 150 cc block also newly installed with a 135 cc Sniper cylinder head. I'll post more photos once i install vixion cams and new valve springs to see the effects of adding grooves if it really has cleaner combustion ! Happy and SAFE motoring to all ! ! !

great mod traxxas ! is this done after or before u shave the cyl block by 1 mm ? since the compression is increased
