LC135 key codes

Good Day!

I just want to know if our key codes of our LC has the same keys. you wil find it in your key.

to start with.. here's mine.
Key code: [glow=red]B72527[/glow]

the keycode is supposed to allow u to get another copy from yamaha if u eva lost ur key i suppose... i read bout tat from somewhere b4 but can't recall where exactly

...yes, from working in the auto industry in the US, there is a code on the key so that the dealer can order a new key from the factory. but here in Asia, i'm not too sure if the same method's apply. the key code may be just the type ( or style ) of key being used for cutting a new key.

well,now that makes sense...
kos since my bike is still under hire purchase, the shop keeps 1 copy of my key....
didn't think about the senario where both sets of keys were lost.

yah...
keycode is supposed to know yamaha if you need to order original.
but what the heck,, its more costly to order original keys
than having it duplicated in your nearby key duplicator shop, much cheaper.

is the "B" engraven on they key itself?
kos mine only has 4 digits

you should log all code's vin and engine numbers and key code in your owners manual.

its not my key. i just took that pic from the internet. the use of the keycode is when you accidentaly lost your key and you haven't duplicated it then you can ask the yamaha dealers for the spare but i think it is cosy..

i just post this thread so that we will know if philippines or other countries has the same codes or yamaha motors might have errors. e.g duplication of keys.

ahhh....the shop may have kept the original..
though mine has the yamaha letterings on it...and the 4 digits engraved on it

mine key has 6 digits. 1 letter, 5 numbers

mine just got 4digit nmber only...just numeric...no letter..
maybe malaysia n singapore only...don't know how bout brunei..

my key is D69697 n i dont really care about posting it here coz who going to order my key and use it on my bike? lol and Traxxas's digital keypad lock is for this exact purpose or so i read, for incidental same key i went to a mister quickie n they couldnt duplicate the key lol ill js order one from the dealer then
