LOW CAM ADVANCED

I'm in late here, I know, but there should be no tik tik tikking or tok tok tokking, ...tok tok tokking means bent valves if you keep at it and tik tik tikking means you need a tappet adjustment regardless of what cam your using. A tight 8 thou on the inlet and a tight 12 thou on the exhaust side works fine with very little valve train noise.

I'm running a 150 cc cylinder, 57 mm piston. Basically it's a YZF R125 with an R15/vixion barel and piston. Stock YZF cam, with a Daytona ECU.
No filter or airbox, custom exhaust and a 32 mm Throttle body with a custom velosicty stack.

Tried to use a UMA black high lift, long duration cam but could not get it enough fuel into it at high revs and to much down low. I could move back to the speedsparks programmable piggyback I have used, but it's pretty clunky. I'd like to use a 135lc big valve head as well, but that would really lean out my current fueling, so I am looking to change to whole system over to a 135lc carby and CDI style setup. I'm much better at jetting a 34 mm Keihin PWK than mapping at present.

TIPID MODS TIP and you can still benefits from low cam, advance timing and high comp set-up using stock parts

1. have ur stock cam tweak by cam profile, specify ur goal and set-up, like to be used for advance timing, mid-to-high rpm power.
2. remove decomp assy
3. removed head and the base gaskets, to achieve high comp
4. remove carb air filter (open carb) adjust the A/F to 2 and 1/2 turns
5. use any open pipe muffler
6. use rcdi preferably red mamaw (rextor)

well just my humble set-up, you can try it if you want hahahahahaha

I like your style, we have moved on, well into the big valve head and forged piston set up with long duration cams. Dyno tested intake track design and lengths as well as head squish and porting... it's all good:).

They originated in France, MBK industries, the motor produced by Italian company Minarelli, now there is an Indian version R15, made in India, and the Vixion, don't know where that's made. Here's a picture of me on my R125, now it'is a 150cc, with race body and lots of tricksView attachment 24648
upon checking the parts of r125 basically same quality with indonesian made yamaha engines. same part numbers with most parts.
the reason why r125 is expensive is because of labor cost. europe labor cost is expensive.

sorry to interrupt. so long this thread is on low cam advanced, i just installed this type of cam with normal marking on magneto which is on I. but the sounds are horrible. my piston is 64mm and already pocketed since it came from the shop. and i added a litle slope to avoid the knocking situation. but the sound is to harsh until i'm afraid of starting my engine on. how this is posible? how can i solve it? thankyou
