AC to HC convertion

heres how i converted my AC sniper to HC sniper...(with the use of genuine yamaha parts)

list of parts that are needed for the convertion:

2S6–E7411–00 AXLE, MAIN
2S6–F6335–00 CABLE, CLUTCH
clutch lever holder with lever(your choice the cheapest is YRS)
overhauling gasket
and ofcourse lots of hard work........

first thing were gonna do is overhaul the engine.. replace 1S7–E7411–00 AXLE, MAIN (12T)
with this 2S6–E7411–00 AXLE, MAIN because the main axle of AC is longer than the Hc.. after that your good.. assemble the engine..( hehehehe)

now mods starts here in your 2S4–E1570–00 FLYWHEEL ASSY
i bought a metal about 2.5kilos and must be round and thickness maximum of 1.5inch then with the help of machine shops reface it and here it is...(dont mind those holes.. they are design for easy pull out of the flywheel..

make sure that 1S7–E6512–00 BOSS, CLUTCH HOUSING will fit the hole in the center of the fabricated flywheel, and welded at the back so it will spin together with the flywheel and for added safety and fabricated lock for the 2S4–E6111–00 GEAR, PRIMARY DRIVE something like this

and fabricate a washer that will fill the gap of the 1S7–E6116–00 COLLAR 1
to the 2S4–E6111–00 GEAR, PRIMARY DRIVE
now it looks something like this if assembled

and placed inside the crank case this is how it will look now

bore out this section here so it the nut will fit the cover

this nut must not hit the cover

almost done...

one more thing we also need to remove this one...
5LM–E8173–00 PIN, SHIFT

i think thats about it...

now im running on HC...

here in bulacan, you can get the whole set including the crank case for roughly 8,000. Its yamaha genuine parts and all you need is a good mechanic to convert it.

thats correct chiglai. plug and play. all parts is actually for HC version of sniper.

that if its genuine yamaha...

well you can always rely on machine shop when installing the HC convertion plug and play style but i dont think it will be reliable for touring bikes like mine... i do modify my bike for a purpose and ofcourse durability for the long rides.. i dont simple install one just to have it...

the main axle will speak for itself.. try removing your AC crank cover and try fitting a HC crank cover youll see its gap is about an inch or 1.5... so it wont be plug and play if we still need to replace the main axle for the main axle needs overhaul when you replace it.

well its up to you bro. I just happened to see an AC sniper converted to HC. They just bought the whole set for convertion and just made a hole on the left handle for the clutch lever and thats it. regarding durability, the bike is now used for drag racing. I dunno about the gap coz I am not a mechanic. just a rider.

ah you mean the HC convertion that is installed in the left side of the cover.. i dont think yamaha made something like that for our sniper...

maybe you can show us the picture of the mechanism that is used for the convertion,

hmmm this is my next project...its true its plug and play and you just have to buy the needed HC parts no need for fabrication the only problem is the availabilty of parts..my friend said that some parts wud take 3 to 4 months to arrive.. he he he

its on the right side where the kick starter is. not on the side of the gear shifter. I'll try to post some pics if I can ask the store to show the parts.

chiglais hc convertion is full HC.
in AC they dont have flywheel, instead they have this mechanism
for autoclutch dont know what its called...

@chinglai - do we still need to change the right cover engine for HC modification or just modify something in the cover para sa clutch
